People Watch: Bismarck State College president to retire next year

Bismarck State College President Larry Skogen will call it quits next year. He is the sixth president in North Dakota school’s 80-year history. Skogen was hired in 2007, and he spent two of his 12 years serving as interim chancellor for the North Dakota University System. Read more.

Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis delivered the commencement address at Haramaya University in Ethiopia. He is the first Oklahoma State president to visit the Ethiopian school in more than 60 years, renewing a bond between the two institutions that started in the years after World War II in which the U.S. school helped bring modern farming and ranching techniques to Ethiopia.
