Paine Provost and President of Academic Affairs Cheryl Evans Jones has been named as acting president. …Timothy J. Collins has been selected as Walsh University’s new president. Collins currently is chief government relations officer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. …Western Illinois University’s new Provost and Academic Vice President Martin Abraham has been appointed Western’s acting president until the Board of Trustees appoints a long-term interim president. …James “Jim” Glass, formerly provost at Southern Regional Technical College, has been named president of the school. …Jacqueline M. Gill has been named president of Danville Community College. Gill succeeds Bruce Scism, the college’s fifth president, who retired at the end of 2018 after serving in that role for five years. Betty Jo Foster has served as the college’s interim president since January. …Darren Dawson, formerly dean of Engineering at Kansas State University, has been named the next president of The University of Alabama in Huntsville. …Dennis King, president of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, will step down January 2020. …Siena College President, Br. F. Edward Coughlin, will leave office next summer at the conclusion of his current term. …Hollins University President Pareena Lawrence has decided to step down from her position to pursue her long-standing interest in international education and development. …Wright Lassiter Jr., former chancellor of Dallas County Community College, died at his home in Dallas. He was 85. …Carole Johnson, president of Gateway Technical College from 1995-98, has died. She was 72.
