Eastern Michigan University fraternity settles with 8 women in sex assault case

One Eastern Michigan University fraternity has settled with eight women who alleged sexual assaults took place in the fraternity house or involved former members.

According to a Wednesday, Dec. 15 filing in U.S. District Court in Detroit, the former EMU students known as Jane Does reached a settlement agreement with Delta Tau Delta’s local and national chapters. The lawsuit will drop the fraternity from the case within 14 days, the court filing states.

The remaining defendants are EMU, including multiple school officials, as well as the national and local chapters of Alpha Sigma Phi and Theta Chi fraternities and the Sigma Kappa sorority.
