Data show that the overall median base salaries of tenured/tenure-track faculty members in U.S. higher education institutions increased at the same rate in 2013 as the year prior (2.1 percent). However, for the first time in four years, increases were greater at public institutions (2.2 percent) than at private institutions (2.0 percent).
