Money Magazine revamped its ranking due to the changing needs of average Americans looking for the best investment based on what they personally value amid higher education's inflated price tag. 

Best Colleges compiled data available from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and Campus Pride's Index Score to map out the most LGBTQ-friendly institutions in the country.

Canada had the most institutions firmly committed to sustainability, with four schools making the top 10 ranking. The U.S. only had one.

Students can scale what elements about a school are important to them, and their results are aggregated create an individualized Top 10 list.

The number of female-led colleges and universities around the world increased this year, and America is leading the charge. Of the 48 top-ranked schools around the world helmed by a woman, 16 represent the red, white and blue, according to Times Higher Education (THE).
