Florida State University’s faculty union last year filed a charge with the state against the FSU Board of Trustees for ‘unfair labor practices’ related to post-tenure faculty review.
A measure signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis requires tenured faculty in Florida’s public universities to go through a comprehensive post-tenure review process every five years.
The university began doing post-tenure reviews before collective bargaining discussions were completed with the faculty union, according to FSU’s United Faculty of Florida President Matthew Lata.
