Two U.S. universities ranked in the top 10 in the latest global campus sustainability rankings.
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings measured sustainability efforts and institutional improvements at nearly 1,500 institutions in 95 countries. Each school was graded on attention to climate change, clean energy, water conservation, waste recycling, green transportation and sustainability education and research.
The highest-ranked U.S. school is the University of California, Davis, which landed at No. 7. The University of Connecticut placed 10th.

The University of California, Davis got high marks for its infrastructure, work on climate change, waste management and water conservation. The University of Connecticut excelled at recycling and sustainability education and research.
The next highest-ranking U.S. schools were California State University, Sacramento (81), University at Albany (598), The Catholic University of America (780), University of Arkansas at Little Rock (785), Western Kentucky University (927) and Southern New Hampshire University (950).
