Dickinson College just did the single-biggest thing a college could do to open its doors to more students from middle-class families.

It became more affordable.

The Carlisle college announced Tuesday that, effective with this fall’s entering freshman class, it will be tuition-free for all students coming from households with annual income under $125,000.
