Hillary Clinton to become global affairs professor at Columbia University

She will serve as a professor of practice at the School of International and Public Affairs and as a presidential fellow at Columbia World Projects, according to a statement from Columbia U. President Lee Bollinger.

Columbia University announced Tuesday the hiring of Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a professor focusing on international affairs.

She will serve as a professor of practice at the School of International and Public Affairs and as a presidential fellow at Columbia World Projects, according to a statement from Columbia U. President Lee Bollinger.

Bollinger said Clinton’s career in public service will contribute greatly to the university.

“I have had the great pleasure of knowing Hillary personally for three decades, since her early days as First Lady of the United States,” she wrote.

“Given her extraordinary talents and capacities together with her singular life experiences, Hillary Clinton is unique, and, most importantly, exceptional in what she can bring to the University’s missions of research and teaching, along with public service and engagement for the public good,” Bollinger wrote.

The university said Clinton will begin her journey at Columbia starting this Fall, which will include making efforts to revitalize democracy and foster engagement and inspiration among women and young people.

In a statement, she said she was looking forward to this next step in educating the “next generation of U.S. and global policy leaders.”
