Alabama colleges have gotten a lot bigger in the last decade, despite enrollment setbacks during the pandemic
Auburn University, though smaller than the University of Alabama, stands out for a huge enrollment increase.
Since 2015, Auburn has gone from 27,284 students to more than 34,000, a 25% increase. That’s due to a big increase in out-of-state students, who numbered about 16,000 in 2024. But it’s also due to a big increase in in-state students, too.
