Parking complex and residence halls at Morehead State University (Ky.):
Four new facilities are on the way for fall 2016 openings. The East Parking Complex and Dining Commons—at a cost of $17.6 million and designed by EOP Architects (Lexington)—will offer about 400 parking spaces as well as a 25,000-square-foot dining area that overlooks the campus’ central residential community.
The other projects are a $28 million residence hall, which will provide suite-style rooms for 550 residents, and a $2.7 million pair of apartment-style buildings with a total of 48 beds.
Both projects were designed by Sherman Carter Barnhart (Lexington).
Panther Stadium at Prairie View A&M University (Texas):
A $60 million project, this athletic complex will feature a 15,000-seat stadium that could be expanded to 30,000 seats during a future, second phase of construction.
A 55,000-square-foot field house, adjacent to the stadium, will house a strength-and-conditioning area, sports medicine suite, team meeting rooms, academic support space and locker rooms.
Leo A Daly (Omaha, Neb.) is the architect on the project, which should be completed for the 2016 football season.
Madison Street Residence Hall at The University of Iowa:
Underway is a 303,000-square-foot residence hall for more than 1,000 students. A $78 million project, it will feature three nine-story towers that will sit on top of a single three-story base.
Being built at the site of a former water plant, the facility is slated for fall 2017 completion. The project team included planning and design firm
Harley Ellis Devereaux (Chicago), Rohrbach Associates PC Architects (Iowa City) and Miron Construction (Cedar Rapids).
