An Ann Arbor college saved its students $10M in textbook costs

A Washtenaw Community College program has saved students $10.1 million on textbooks since 2017.

The Open Educational Resources program provides WCC students degrees or certificates that require zero cost in textbooks. Students use free OER textbooks adapted by WCC faculty or other textbook alternatives.

The multi-million dollar savings for students makes college even more affordable for WCC students, WCC President Rose Bellanca said in a statement.
