William & Mary names 28th president
Starting July 1, Katherine A. Rowe will begin her tenure as the 28th president of William & Mary in Virginia.
Rowe currently serves as provost and dean of faculty of Smith College in Massachusetts, where she broke the national fundraising record for a women’s college and launched the first statistical major at one. Leading a nine-person team administering more than 600 employees, she has hired the largest cohort of minorities in the college’s history.
Rowe also co-founded Luminary Digital Media and serves on Harvard’s Board of Overseers’ Visiting Committee of the Library and on the Executive Committee of the American
Council of Learned Societies.

- Dean Alison Davis-Blake of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business will begin serving as the eighth president of Massachusetts’ Bentley University in July.
- In September, Ruben “Mike” Flores will leave his role as president of Palo Alto College in Texas to serve as chancellor of Alamo Colleges’ five community colleges, also in Texas.
