Other people news: New Bentley University president and Alamo Colleges chancellor

Starting July 1, Katherine A. Rowe will begin her tenure as the 28th president of William & Mary in Virginia.

Rowe currently serves as provost and dean of faculty of Smith College in Massachusetts, where she broke the national fundraising record for a women’s college and launched the first statistical major at one. Leading a nine-person team administering more than 600 employees, she has hired the largest cohort of minorities in the college’s history.

Rowe also co-founded Luminary Digital Media and serves on Harvard’s Board of Overseers’ Visiting Committee of the Library and on the Executive Committee of the American 
Council of Learned Societies.

Other people news:

  • Dean Alison Davis-Blake of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business will begin serving as the eighth president of Massachusetts’ Bentley University in July.
  • In September, Ruben “Mike” Flores will leave his role as president of Palo Alto College in Texas to serve as chancellor of Alamo Colleges’ five community colleges, also in Texas.
