Rutgers University lifts mask requirement in classes, libraries, indoor events

Rutgers University will no longer require face coverings to be worn in classrooms and most other indoor spaces starting Saturday, but students and employees are still required to vaccinated and boosted against the coronavirus, school officials said.

The state university made the announcement Monday morning, saying this week is the last students will be required to wear masks indoors before a mask-optional policy begins this weekend. Face coverings will still be mandatory in clinical settings at the university, which includes medical, dental and nursing schools.
