Primavera De Filippi to deliver opening keynote

Filippi, permanent researcher at the National Center of Scientific Research, will discuss using blockchain to support large-scale decentralized collaboration and participatory decision-making at UB Tech® 2020

Primavera De Filippi—a permanent researcher at the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS), a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, and a Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute—will deliver the opening keynote address at UB Tech® 2020, speaking on the topic of “The Promise of Blockchain, and Its Impact on Higher Education.”

The conference will be held June 15-17 in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand.

Primavera, a member of the Global Future Council on Blockchain Technologies at the World Economic Forum and co-founder of the Internet Governance Forum’s dynamic coalitions on Blockchain Technology (COALA), is currently researching how to enable new governance models and participatory decision-making using decentralized technologies, with a focus on blockchain.

Primavera also co-authored  “Blockchain and the Law” (Harvard University Press, 2018) with Aaron Wright.
