Preparing a stronger workforce and other takeaways from Texas higher education

Training, internships and more state funding will go a long way to preparing the talented workforce that Texas needs, college and university leaders said this week.

The Texas officials gathered Wednesday to discuss the needs of schools, bouncing back from coronavirus setbacks and statewide plans to increase the number of Texans with degrees.

Dallas College Chancellor Justin Lonon, University of Texas at Arlington President Jennifer Cowley and Texas Commissioner of Higher Education Harrison Keller led the talk on the state of higher education, hosted by the Dallas Regional Chamber.
