People Watch: Primary candidate for University of Nebraska system president is announced

The priority candidate for the University of Nebraska system president position, Walter “Ted” Carter Jr., spoke to students, faculty, staff and members of the public at a press conference after the Board of Regents announced his candidacy. He is a retired vice admiral in the U.S. Navy and has served as superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy for six years. At the University of Nebraska system, Carter would fill a vacancy left by Hank Bounds and succeed interim President Susan Fritz. Read more.
