Oklahoma Christian students vote on donation spending

"Campus Cafe Reboot" gets nod for $275,000 gift

Need donation spending advice? Turn to the students, as Oklahoma Christian University did.

In November, President John deSteiguer announced that students could vote to allocate a recent $275,000 gift to one of six projects in the university’s Thrive campaign.

“Students Pick” initiative options were: construction of a campus coffee shop, expansion of the Ethos spiritual life initiative, investment in new fitness equipment across campus, renovation of the campus dining hall, renovation of a facility for the School of Nursing, or renovation of student apartments.

After 600 votes were cast, the $4.2 million “Campus Cafe Reboot” project pot got the donation.
