Garnett Stokes will be the next president of The University of New Mexico.

She was one of the last remaining leaders employed at University of Missouri since before the 2015 protests.

At Mizzou, she served as provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs. Stokes created the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX during her tenure there.

Prior to Mizzou, Stokes worked at the University of Georgia and at Florida State University.
