Pennsylvania’s increase in female higher education leaders comes as a study released earlier this month shows that while strides have been made for the top spot at colleges, the gender gap remains.
In Pennsylvania, it’s not only noteworthy that the four-state related schools are being led by women, but are also being led by people of color. Ms. Bendapudi is Indian, and Ms. Allen and Ms. Epps are Black. Most college presidents, in addition to being male, are also white, according to the ACE survey.
