MacKenzie Scott donates $20 million to Meharry Medical College

Philanthropist and author MacKenzie Scott has given $20 million to Meharry Medical College in Nashville, the school announced in a news release Tuesday.

Meharry, one of Nashville’s historically Black colleges and universities, said it has experienced unprecedented growth since 2015, and that Scott’s gift helps push its vision forward.

Dr. James E.K. Hildreth, the college’s president and CEO, shared a video talking about the gift with the Meharry community Tuesday morning.
