Abraham Lincoln’s namesake college will open again in the city that’s also named for the 16th president, Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch said on Friday.
The mayor said he’s been sitting in on some meetings about the college, but he provided few details. He said it would have a “different feel” compared to the school that closed in May 2022 after 157 years.
Lincoln College closed last year for several reasons, including COVID 19′s effect on recruitment and fundraising, and a December 2021 cyberattack that negatively impacted admissions activities and hampered access to all institutional data, the school’s president said at the time.
