Higher education incentives intended to keep students in college attract high school students

Several local universities and colleges have offered additional financial incentives this year, meant to help students afford higher education during a time of hardship.

Wright State University and Sinclair Community College gave additional $1,000 scholarships to qualifying students who went straight from high school to college this year.

Edison State Community College waived any tuition costs remaining after an eligible student’s financial aid had been applied. Eligible students all enrolled in Edison State right out of high school.

The institutions all say the programs helped students get into and stay in college.
