Higher ed industry news: Over 100 schools join ScholarNet for Private Loans network

Over 100 schools have joined Great Lakes Educational Loan Services’ ScholarNet for Private Loans network this past year to connect with lenders who will streamline private student loan data and fund exchanges.

Eastern Oregon University and Revature are providing students and alumni with free online and in-person coding programs that teach technology skills sought by employers.

Gavilan College (California) has selected SunPower to deploy its Helix Carport solar panels (1.4 megawatts) across two of the college’s parking lots. The system is enhanced by Stem Inc.’s 250-kW energy storage solution.

The College of San Mateo (California) has partnered with InsideTrack to increase the number of Latino and low-income students who graduate with STEM degrees. Students will have access to InsideTrack’s coaches and uCoach platform.

University of California, Los Angeles has deployed VIMOC Technologies’ Smart Multi-modal to maintain traffic flow and to safely and efficiently accommodate all forms of transportation on campus.

Indiana University has selected the Kaltura video repository and archiving system and Matrox Monarch LCS H.264 encoder to capture video lectures in every classroom with 70 to 300 students, and to provide anytime, anywhere learning.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Massachusetts) chose EfficientIP’s SOLIDserver to streamline IT management infrastructure. The process began in June 2016 and took six months to complete. The institute plans to focus on one-to-one transition over the new server for the next few months.
