A growing number of young workers are skipping the traditional college route and finding careers in skilled trades. Four in 10 Gen Z workers say they’re turning to blue-collar jobs for security, according to recent surveys.
Individuals between the ages of 18 and 28 are choosing careers that require learning a hard skill and working with their hands, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians and more.
For many, the motivation is financial. These jobs provide stability without the burden of student debt. Others are finding purpose beyond the paycheck.
