Employee survey at Western Michigan University highlights distrust in leadership

Only 15% agree that the university is well run, and less than 20% believe senior leadership cares about the work environment.

A survey of faculty and staff at Western Michigan University highlighted the growing rift between the institution’s leaders and their employees.

Only 15% of surveyed faculty and staff agree that the university is “well run,” according to the results of the 2022 WMYou Employee Engagement Survey.

The survey, which was conducted in February and March, questioned faculty and staff about their working environment, career fulfillment and the communication and direction of senior leadership, which includes the president and those that report directly to him.
