Devinder Malhotra to become chancellor of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities

Interim Chancellor Devinder Malhotra of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities will now lead the system’s 30 two-year colleges and seven state universities in a full-time capacity. Malhotra’s promotion came at the request of the trustees.

In 2017, Malhotra came out of retirement to fill the role of interim chancellor after trustees rejected the first round of finalists chosen by an advisory committee in a national search.

He previously served as interim president of Metropolitan State University and as provost of St. Cloud State University, both also in Minnesota.
