Construction Watch: Oregon Legislature wrestles with what to pass, what to fund

On the agenda for the Oregon Legislature: campaign finance, rural housing, university construction and boating. The capital construction bill for universities will be one of the last bills to be voted on this session (ending June 30). Gov. Kate Brown had requested that $225 million in bonds be set aside for unspecified construction projects that would be selected in 2020. Read more.

In other construction news:

Drivers may have noticed that getting around the University of Illinois campus west of the quad has been a bit tricky this summer. Among the projects underway is construction of The Hub, which will be 17 stories and 175 feet high, and is set to be completed in December 2020. Read more.

The Wisconsin Legislature’s state budget committee voted to approve $1.9 billion for state construction projects, including more than $1 billion for University of Wisconsin System projects. Read more.
