The board of trustees of Miami University has authorized a contract for a new $96 million health sciences building on the Oxford, Ohio, campus. The move will help meet growing demand for health care jobs, says Miami U President Greg Crawford. Read more.

Construction on Orange Coast College’s new Professional Mariner Training Center is now underway following a groundbreaking ceremony in Costa Mesa, California. The new facility will connect to the marine program’s sailing and rowing base at Newport Harbor—just across the street—by a skyway bridge over West Coast Highway. Read more.

For a time, Josep Lluís Sert’s brawny buildings defined modern Boston. Sert (1902–1983) held the deanship at Harvard Graduate School of Design from 1953 to 1969 and also maintained an independent practice, Sert, Jackson & Associates.
