Conference keynoters selected for UBTech 2015

University presidents Laurie Leshin and Donald Farish to speak along with Purdue CIO Gerry McCartney

Three exciting keynote speakers have been locked in for UBTech 2015, University Business’s annual technology and leadership conference, being held June 15 to 17 in Orlando.

Laurie Leshin, the first female president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, will be addressing “How Innovation is Unleashed by Answering an Unanswerable Question.” In addition to her past higher ed experience at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and at Arizona State University, she has served as the deputy director of NASA’s Exploration Systems Mission Directorate.

Purdue University CIO Gerry McCartney will be predicting technology trends in “The Long Arc: The Future of Higher Education and the Central Role of IT.” Under his leadership, Purdue developed the nation’s largest cyberinfrastructure for campus research.

Donald Farish has made higher ed affordability and accessibility a priority since joining Rhode Island’s Roger Williams University as president in 2011. He will speak on “Why Higher Education is Under Siege and What We Can and Should Be Doing About It.”
