As more students choose online education, institutions must find new ways to foster meaningful connections that support success. At Fort Hays State University (FHSU), survey data revealed a striking gap: while 81% of online learners felt a sense of belonging with the larger school community, only 47% felt connected to peers, and 61% had no interaction outside of required coursework.

In this Ed Talk, Dr. Andrew Feldstein, Assistant Provost at FHSU, will share how the university is tackling these challenges with a comprehensive Digital Master Plan. He’ll show how digital tools and intentional community-building come together to improve student connections, belonging, motivation, and retention in your own online programs.

Bonus: Attendees who join the live event will be able to participate in a ThoughtExchange workshop to share and rank the best practices from their peers on how to strengthen online learning.***
