$1,500 bonuses offered to University of Michigan employees for work during COVID pandemic

Certain University of Michigan staff will receive $1,500 bonuses by the end of the year for working during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The payments apply to regular and non-temporary faculty and staff on the Ann Arbor campus, officials said. It is expected to be paid to most employees by Dec. 13.

UM President Mark Schlissel announced the bonuses in a campus-wide email on Tuesday, Dec. 7, recognizing employees for their “efforts in these extraordinary times” since the pandemic emerged in spring 2020.
