University Business Magazine is the leading publication for college and university decision-makers and professionals across diverse areas such as ﬁnancial aid, advancement and development, IT, admissions/registration, facilities and auxiliary services, community and public relations/marketing, online education delivery, student affairs, food service, etc. The magazine is mailed each month to 45,500 qualiﬁed senior-level and management readers. University Business is a business-feature- oriented and news analysis publication, with an emphasis on in-the-trenches reporting.

How to pitch story ideas
Advertisers have no advantage in editorial contribution; University Business editorial decisions are based solely on the value of information to our readers.
The best way to understand what types of stories we are looking for, and how they should be written, is to read recent issues of the magazine. We look especially for real-life case studies and one-on-one interviews with higher education leaders. In the case of contributed articles, we accept only original material, which we reserve the right to edit. There are editorial opportunities in features, departments, and columns, and the magazine encourages opinion submissions. There are also opportunities for editorial panelists, and for judges for surveys, critiques, and award programs.

You may pitch directly via e-mail to the editors at the links below. Story proposals should be brief and focused. Make sure to identify the editorial story slot in your subject box (e.g., “November Admissions Technology story”).

Feature articles are usually assigned 3 months ahead of the issue date; opinion pieces may be submitted at any time.
