OTTAWA, ON – October 1, 2019 – Kivuto, a leading provider of academic digital resources, is proud to contribute to the outstanding work that VMware has undertaken through their VMware IT Academy:  Africa program.

Through IT Academy: Africa, VMware is collaborating with key stakeholders across academia, government and industry to equip African students with the technical skills and certifications required to succeed in the digital economy. The overarching goal of the program is to empower the fast-growing, young African population to enter the digital workforce with confidence and expertise, helping to address the skills gap and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship across the continent.

IT Academy: Africa utilizes Kivuto as the means to provide educational materials and certification to participating educational institutions, such as the recently announced Strathmore University located in Nairobi, Kenya.

Jeff Blacklock, President at Kivuto, said:

“The IT Academy: Africa program is an absolutely amazing initiative that VMware is spearheading to empower young people throughout Africa with the tools they need to enter the digital workforce. Kivuto is proud to have the opportunity to play a small part in this initiative by facilitating VMware’s distribution of the digital assets used. We would like to congratulate VMware on this program, and we look forward to having the opportunity to continue to work with them as they enhance and grow the initiative throughout Africa and beyond.”
