Okla. state regents say higher ed key to state growth

Oklahoma’s higher education leaders agree next year’s $25 million budget increase is better than a cut, but most feel it isn’t nearly enough for the state’s network of 25 colleges and universities.

“The state needs to start supporting higher ed if the state is to grow,” said Jay Helm, chair of the State Regents for Higher Education.
