The interim chancellor of East Carolina University is on administrative leave after photos were published of him at a bar with students. Dan Gerlach was placed on leave “in light of reports from this past weekend.” University of North Carolina Interim President Bill Roper said Gerlach was placed on administrative leave as part of the process of the UNC system investigation. …Thomas Mitzel is resigning from his position as president of Dickinson State University to pursue an opportunity at Kentucky Wesleyan College. Mitzel will depart later than December 31 for a position as president of Kentucky Wesleyan College.…The Rev. Eric Albert Zimmer is the new president of the University of Saint Francis. He succeeds Sister M. Elise Kriss, OSF, who retired after 27 years as president. …Following 17 years of distinguished service to Purchase College and SUNY, Thomas Schwarz has been appointed president emeritus. Schwarz is credited with transforming the campus academically and financially, as well as committing student support that led to improved graduation rates and retention. …Louis Petrizzo has been appointed interim president of Purchase College and will continue until September 25, 2020 or until further action by Suffolk County Community College Board of Trustees and SUNY’s Board of Trustees. …Claremont Lincoln University’s Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Tony Digiovanni as its third President and CEO. Digiovanni has served as CLU’s Interim CEO since January of this year. …Bruce W. Ferguson, former president of Otis College of Art and Design, died of cancer at his home in Los Angeles. He was 73.
