Models of Excellence FAQs
How does it work?
You tell us what makes your college or university a Model of Excellence for its efforts in promoting student success. Three times a year, we will highlight innovative and effective initiatives that involve cross-departmental collaboration. Stories will be shared both in print and online, and honorees will also receive a handsome plaque as part of the recognition for being named a University Business Model of Excellence.
Who is eligible?
Any two- or four-year college or university in the United States or Canada may apply.
What do the judges look for?
Entries should reflect initiatives to improve student success and involve collaboration between various campus departments and/or external partners. We are especially seeking entries from institutions that realize student success is about more than just academic outcomes. The best entries articulate well the motivation behind the success initiative, include a plan for data collection and use, and share the program’s impact. Effectiveness data should be provided when available, particularly for well-established programs. Your effort should be replicable at other colleges and universities.
