Majority of local schools exceed statewide average of grads needing help

All of the local school districts except Beaver Local and Columbiana exceeded the statewide average in terms of high school graduates needing some academic help their freshman year of college.

According to a recent report from the Ohio Department of Higher Education, 27 percent of the 2017 high school graduates in Ohio who enrolled in a state college needed remedial help in mathematics or English their freshman year.
