Low pay, working conditions chased me from job as professor, but next president could help
I never loved a job before I became a professor. In graduate school I had other plans, but a chance to teach came my way and I was hooked. Sharing the subject I loved with curious and engaged young people became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
This semester, I had to quit a job that had become my passion. The reason: I cannot make a living being a college professor.
