Complaint of forced hug, kiss, and sexual harassment brings reprimand for state college administrator

The director of the master’s degree program at Charter Oak State College received a written reprimand last fall after a woman administrator complained that he gripped her in an unwanted hug, forced a kiss on her cheek — after she turned her face away — and later engaged in “graphic sexual harassment” including a lewd query as to whether she’d enjoyed the incident.

“Tell me honestly, when I kissed you, you really wanted me to shove my tongue down your throat,” the victim quoted Thomas Barron Jr. as saying during a January meeting with her, about a month after the hug-and-kiss incident that she said happened in either late 2017 or early 2018.
