College athletes deserve access to the marketplace

When Paul Orfalea opened his first Kinko’s copy store while attending USC in 1970, he faced no risk of having to forfeit his college eligibility. The same was true of Michael Dell when he founded his first computer company in 1984 — the precursor to Dell Computers — while he was an undergrad at the University of Texas at Austin. Dell didn’t have to worry about being stripped of his academic standing because of his new business venture.
