CCRI reports free college tuition program is paying dividends

The Community College of Rhode Island’s free college tuition program has doubled the number of full-time students who are entering college right out of high school, according to the college’s vice president of student affairs.

The numbers of low-income students and students of color enrolling in CCRI full-time has more than doubled since the program began in the summer of 2017. This is significant because one of the goals of the program is to encourage more under-served students to attend college, and, more importantly, to stay in college.
