Baker calls for continued investments in vocational training equipment
Gov. Charlie Baker stopped by AIS in Leominster on Wednesday, marking the state’s celebration of Manufacturing Month. After a brief tour of the facility, Baker spoke about ways that schools and the commonwealth are teaming up to make technical and manufacturing careers more appealing to the workforce of the future.
The stability of the manufacturing industry has long been used as a litmus test for economic growth in the United States, but a perceived bias against the field has posed challenges for many employers, who are tasked with making the industry appeal to younger generations that are less inclined to pursue technical careers.
