As other campus departments experience cut or stagnant budgets, campus engagement centers have been an exception. Although they’re generally smaller departments, their budgets have been steadily growing over the past few years, according to a survey of Campus Compact’s member institutions.

Momentum for divestment of fossil fuel from university endowments grew slowly all spring. In late April, students at Rhode Island School of Design staged a sit-in to draw attention to the cause. Then, during a nationwide Day of Action on May 2, student groups at more than 60 colleges and universities hosted events pushing for fossil fuel divestment.

Students at Louisiana's public colleges could see their fees increase between $48 and $2,500 under a bill approved Monday by the Senate. The bill now only needs a quick nod of approval from the House before heading to Gov. Bobby Jindal for his signature or veto.

After many months of uncertainty Saint Paul's College founded in 1888 will close on June 30, 2013. A Teach Out Plan for closing an institution will be forwarded to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges for approval.

Radnor Township officials believe it’s not unreasonable to ask Villanova and the other institutions to shoulder some of the costs for public safety, street lights, traffic lights and snow removal that the township provides.
