The University of Wisconsin System is looking to boost graduation rates by making it easier for students to transfer to its campuses, and regents heard Thursday about an online tool that could help students plan for the move.
About 17,000 students transfer into and within the UW System each year, though sometimes credits and money are wasted when course requirements don't match.
The online tool, which was detailed during a meeting in Green Bay, is intended to help students determine which credits at their two- or four-year campus would apply toward a specific major at UW-Madison.
The program will be expanded each year to add two to three more four-year campuses to the program, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
