Thomson Reuters and Ohio State University have teamed to introduce Research In View™: a campus-wide system for collecting, assessing and managing scholarly activity data using key performance metrics.
The new partnership will give Ohio State an across-the-board look into university activities and scholarly performance by building on Thomson Reuters citation data and performance analytics. Highlights of the program include:
• Gauging the Effort: The data captured in Research in View offers insight into the full spectrum of research, teaching and service activities, and will allow Ohio State to assess the impact of its strategic initiatives by quantifying its strengths and promoting its contribution to scholarship and the community.
• Cataloging Faculty Initiatives: Faculty members can easily build and maintain profiles of their service, teaching, and research expertise, giving university administrators a complete picture of the university’s intellectual assets and streamlining reporting activities.
• Proprietary Database Network: Thomson Reuters will help Ohio State build a faculty profiling system that collects data from multiple sources and in various formats. Through this new network, data can be standardized to provide a unified interface for managing, searching and reporting on key areas within an institution.
