Oakland University administrators and faculty reached a tentative contract agreement Friday that includes across-the-board pay raises, merit pay changes and restructured benefits.
The administration and the 700-member Oakland University chapter of the American Association of University Professors have continued negotiations since the instructors' contract expired last month.
"After a marathon negotiation session ending at 3:30 a.m., we are pleased to announce that the University and the Oakland Chapter of the AAUP have reached a tentative agreement," according to a statement released Friday by the university.
"The agreement will extend for the next three years and provide across-the-board pay increases, merit pay adjustments and benefit restructuring. Overall, the agreement reflects a fair and equitable package, addressing the interests and needs of both parties.
