Stanford Study Shows Much Steeper Budget Cuts Likely Coming to UC, CSU Systems

The Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR) has released "Public Higher Education in California: Examining the Financial Landscape of the 21st Century," authored by David Hoffert and Robert Jackman, students in Stanford's Master in Public Policy (MPP) program and Shaowen Ang, a student in Stanford's International Policy Studies (IPS) program.

The report documents shrinking state support for California's public higher education system and predicts steeper cuts in the future, even if an estimated $7 billion in new tax revenues (as proposed by Governor Brown) are approved.
