New Chief Seeks More Public Role For UND Police

When he was in fourth-grade in Green Cove Springs, Fla., Eric Plummer was arrested, so to speak, by a classroom visit from two state troopers.

“I had a dream of being a Florida State Trooper,” Plummer said this past week, his first as the new top cop at UND.

Sixteen years later, as a Florida trooper himself, he met again one of the two troopers.

“I was so impressed by the troopers, the way they dressed, the way they handled themselves in public, and the way they provided public service,” he said. “That is what I want to emulate in my career.”
