The expansion of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids is hailed as a boon to West Michigan, but some Lansing area officials and former faculty members worry that their region will pay the price.
They are concerned the school’s focus on Grand Rapids will pull jobs and revenue away from the Lansing area, according to a report in MSU’s State News.
The MSU student newspaper has launched an ongoing series about the College of Human Medicine’s presence in Grand Rapids.
